Club UpdatesRants, raves, ramblings..... [14 February 2007]A reminder of the CCC social meeting to be held at Douglas and Mary Ann Irvin's home 25 Sommerville Crescent Whitfield at 7.30 pm Monday the 19th February 2007. Please ring Alan Cummins for further information 4056 1083 [18 December 2006]The Social meeting for January will be a week later than normal, on Monday the 22nd. Winfried and Melody have offered their place for the January meeting. They have kindly offered to provide the food for a BBQ starting at 6.00 p.m.Winfried also said if anyone wants to stay the night after the meeting they can, just bring a swag or tent. We need to assemble by 9am at Chillagoe Caving Club House then go out and do a stretcher rescue in “Macropodidaes Cave”. Then Saturday Night we will have our annual Christmas party BBQ which will be held at our Club house Cathedral Street Chillagoe. It will be a BYO and will commence at 7pm. We will also have a small ceremony to officially thank the Community Benefit Fund for financing our now fully functional fire warning and fire fighting equipment installed at the Clubhouse and for all those who are able to stand or a least crawl to the cars the next morning, (that being Sunday the12th) there will be general caving. [10 August 2006]The August Newsletter is now available here [14 May 2006]Here is the current list of office bearers for 2006-2007, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome some new faces, Paul Osborne is not new but has taken on another ( can I say this?) port folio and we would like to welcome Brett Wilson to the office of "Environmental Conservation Officer"
1. Election Of Office Bearers.
Alan Cummins declared all the CCC positions vacant, Mr. Tom Gilmore then chaired the meeting so a new executive could be elected. During this time Tom spoke on the great progress of the Club in restoring the “Old School Building” which at times seemed doomed to destruction, he also spoke about how good it was that the Club was in the process of purchasing the Club House land at Chillagoe.
Alan Cummins was nominated for president by Carl Peacock, Seconded by Gordon Greaves, Alan was re-elected unopposed.
Barry Neale was nominated for secretary by Gordon Greaves, seconded by Gordon Greaves, Barry was re-elected unopposed.
Les Pearson was nominated for treasurer by Gordon Greaves but declined. Douglas Irvin was nominated for treasurer by Beth Pearson, seconded by Miriam Robinson, Douglas was re-elected unopposed.
Most of the following positions in the Club were filled by members who were approached before the meeting and indicated that they were willing to take the positions offered. The other positions were filled during the meeting. This was confirmed at and by the meeting.
